The Cons:Outdated by the M10. Uses the older Santa Rosa platform. Suffers from the same weight problem as the later model - too heavy for a 14"!

The Toshiba Tecra M9, an upgrade from the Terra M5, is a business-grade notebook that uses the 800MHz Santa Rosa Intel platform combined with a Mobile Intel P965 Express Chipset operating alongside an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Equipped with a T8100(2.1GHz) processor and 1GB of PC2-5300 DDR 667MHz SDRAM that are both lodged underneath the magnesium alloy lid, the Tecra M9 is recognized as an affordable, durable, and effective solution for business travelers. It also features 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, Gigabit LAN, a 160GB hard drive operating at 5400rpm,  and an Ultra Slimbay DVD-SuperMulti drive that supports up to 11 formats. With a 14.1” WXGA monitor, the M9 offers resolutions up to 1280x800. In addition, the Toshiba Tectra M9 is outfitted with a Li-Ion 5100mAh battery that can last up to 5.2 hours.
