Toshiba Satellite Pro S300M

$899.00 Released January, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Keyboard has a great feel, nice response, great for typing for a few hours. USB port layout is ideal for keeping wires out of the way and untangled. Speedy performance for general computing, no real noticeable lag.

The Cons:Loaded with a large collection of software of limited appeal that really slow the system down unnecessarily. Keys are slightly over-sensitive for some, will register keystrokes at very light touches. Clicking action at the touchpad is over-sensitive, often end up hitting it when you don't mean to.

The Toshiba Satellite Pro S300M series is designed as a lightweight laptop computer for business environments. The S300M is similar to the larger S300 in terms of specifications, but has a slightly smaller screen and marginally slower processor.

The Satellite Pro S300M series attempts to provide many of the same features found in the larger S300 series, albeit in a lighter and more compact body. Users who like Toshiba’s Satellite Pro U400 series’ small form factor but desire more power and flexibility should find the S300M laptops more than adequate. Specifically, the S300M EZ2401, EZ2402 and EZ2403 models are powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors, feature 14.1” 1280 x 800 resolution widescreen displays and support up to 3GB of DDR2 RAM. While none of these models offer SSD storage, the S300 series does offer hard drive storage ranging from 160GB to 250GB. All models are equipped with dual-layer DVD writers and 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi. The two higher-end models offer Bluetooth connectivity as well. All models include Windows Vista Business, with the optional Windows XP Professional downgrade. Models range in price from $899-1,099.
