Toshiba Satellite Pro S300-EZ2502
$999.00
Released January, 2008
The Pros:Includes Windows Vista Business edition rather than the more standard Home edition. Decent battery life (a little over 4 hours) considering the hardware and screen size. 16:10 aspect ratio is a rarity among newer 16:9, media-oriented laptops, allows for more comfortable web browsing.
The Cons:Older Intel Core 2 Duo can't hold up to Intel's more powerful and more efficient Sandy Bridge chips. Limited hard drive space--160GB total minus the space Windows takes up. Clunky, unattractive visual style looks downright ancient compared to newer offerings, even business-oriented ones.
The Toshiba Satellite Pro S300-EZ2502 is the middle model of the S300 desktop-replacement laptop computers designed for business environments. The Satellite Pro S300 series is positioned above Toshiba’s entry-level L300 business series offerings, providing more performance and features for a higher price.

The S300 series is only outdone by the L350 series, by differentiating itself with a larger 17” display. Specifically, the EZ2502 model is differentiated from the EZ2501 with the inclusion of a speedier 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a faster 1066MHz front side bus. The EZ2502 also features a 15.4” 1280 x 800 resolution widescreen display and sports 2GB of DDR2 RAM. While the EZ2502 does not come equipped with SSD storage, this laptop does offer 160GB of 5400rpm hard drive storage. Finishing touches on this computer include a dual-layer DVD writer, 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and a fingerprint reader for added security. The EZ2502 comes preloaded with Windows Vista Business, with an optional Windows XP Professional downgrade.
