The Pros:Sleek visual aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye. Back-lit keyboard looks cool, comes in handy at night. The multi-touch touchpad feels very natural, offers expanded functionality over standard touchpads.
The Cons:Comes pre-installed with a fair amount of manufacturer's bloatware. Pretty serious overheating issue has even been known to melt the laptop's casing. Glossy bezel is a fingerprint magnet.
The Toshiba Satellite M500 is a mid-range laptop with a compact and lightweight design for portability. The laptop has a 14" LED-backlit display with Toshiba's HD TruBrite technology.

It features either an Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion X2 processor with up to 4GB DDR2 SDRAM and an up to 400GB hard drive. The Satellite M500 is designed with a DVD SuperMulti drive, illuminated LED-backlit keyboard, and can be upgraded to include harmon/kardon stereo speakers. It also has a built-in webcam and microphone and can be configured to include 3G Broadband and Bluetooth connectivity. The laptop operates on Windows Vista Home Premium and offers a variety of inputs including a PC-Express slot, memory card reader, and optional HDMI and SPDIF ports. The Satellite M500 comes in a black onyx or gold onyx finish and has a 1 year limited warranty.
