Toshiba Satellite L515-S4960
$550.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:Subtle exterior design, uses the same chassis as the consumer line but with a toned down colour scheme. Good performance at a budget price, the processor/ram/hard drive provides sufficient performance for students. Good selection of inputs, rare to find eSATA/USB combo port on a budget notebook, the other 2 USB ports can also be used to charge devices whilst the computer is in sleep mode.
The Cons:Has same issues as the consumer line model, uses cheap plastics, keyboard and palm rest flex issues. Keyboard is crammed (horizontally) compared to main stream 14" notebooks. Glossy display, highly reflective in brightly lid environments such as lecture halls.
