Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980
$730.00
Released October, 2009
The Pros:Integrated webcam is clear and bright - excellent for videoconferencing via applications like Skype and Google Talk. Built-in speakers perform surprisingly well for their size - sound outputting is loud, with minimal distortion and sufficient low-end presence. General processing applications are fast and responsive - ideal for emailing, web browsing, word processing and image/video viewing.
The Cons:Hard drives are seemingly prone to operational failure - many users report needing to replace the CPU within only a year of regular use. Touch pad is overly sensitive - cursor navigation may cause frustration amongst inexperienced laptop users, especially when scrolling.
