The A305-S6863 is near the top of Toshiba's Satellite A300 series of laptops. This model features a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 3GB of RAM. It is also distinguished by its large hard-drive space, with 500 GB of space spread across two 250GB drives.

The model runs with Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, which has 128MB-1294MB dynamically allocated memory. The model has all the standard A300 features like a 15.4" display screen with 1280x800 resolution, dual-layer DVD SuperMulti drive, webcam, and 4 USB ports. The A305-S6863 also features Intel Wi-Fi Link and Harmon Kardon speakers. This model does not have the FM tuner standard on most in the series, but does have iLINK and S-video out.
