Toshiba Satellite A205-S5872
$649.00
Released August, 2008
The Pros:16:10 aspect ratio offers more comfortable browsing compared to the more often seen 16:9. Display quality - very bright and vibrant with decent contrast. Excellent cooling system keeps everything running smoothly.
The Cons:Dated specs (1.86GHz Intel Pentium CPU, 2GB DDR2 RAM). Touchpad is a bit smaller than average making it a bit awkward to get used to. WiFi on/off switch is very awkwardly placed under the laptop's front lip.
The A205-S5872 is the top-end model of Toshiba's Satellite A200 series, designed for consumer home use. It has the standard A200 series features like a 15.4" display screen with TrueBrite technology, 1280x800 resolution and 720p support, built-in wif-fi and webcam, and 4 USB ports.

It also has a 1.86GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T2390 with 2GB of SDRAM like many of the A200 series models, but is the only laptop in the product line to have a 200GB 5400rpm hard-drive. It also has a Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 8MB-256MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory. Pricewise, this is the most expensive of the A200 series, and retails for $649, about $100 more than the entry-level A200 model.
