Samsung P480

$999.00 Released May, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Form factor is highly compact for a high-performance notebook. Anti-glare screen allows for easy viewing in sunlight (vs. glossy competitors). Excellent heat dissipation given high performance.

The Cons:Very minor advantages vs. the cheaper P430. Less customizable than HP and Dell competitors may make it unable to meet certain business needs. Somewhat weak battery life compared to high-end business competitors.

The Samsung P480 replaces the P460 as Samsung's premium business notebook. At 4.8lbs and with Intel Core i5 processors, it offers plenty of performance in a small package. When compared to the cheaper P430, the P480 offers extras such as a more durable body, an extra USB port, and a trust platform module (TPM).

Whilst it's configuration options might not be as flexible as it's competitions such as the HP EliteBook or the Dell Latitude line, the configuration offered should meet a wide range of business needs. It is equipped with wireless-N and gigabit ethernet connectivity options as well as a 0.3 Mega Pixel webcam and microphone for video conferencing uses. A docking station is also available as an accessory for the P480/580 notebooks. As with most premium business notebooks, the P480 is equipped with a matte (antiglare) screen.
