MSi VR601
$500.00
Released March, 2009
The Pros:Battery lasts for 3.5 hours on average before wearing out. Fairly light, easy to carry around without much effort. Display has enough color depth to make watching movies very satisfying, everything looks great.
The Cons:Not enough graphics processing power for anything but older games. Silver and black finish look boring and unimpressive. Keyboard feels a bit cramped, takes some time to get used to smaller Shift and Enter keys.

Another area of compromise, according to reviews, is build quality. The VR601 is available with 2 GB of RAM and 160 GB of storage capacity, and comes with built-in Wi-Fi as well as a webcam. Other features include a memory card reader and DVD-write drive. The VR601 aims to meet the needs of students and other cost-conscious consumers who don't require top performance, but would like decent mobility.
