MSI EX300

$1,000.00 Released August, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Considerably lighter than most 14/15" laptops - good for mobile computing and transportability. Has been upgraded with plenty of RAM. 802.11n and Bluetooth standard.

The Cons:Poor colour choices - no standard black or white. Took a long time to become available.

The EX300 is a new Centrino 2 based laptop from MSI, targeted at those interested in the latest technology packed with a mobile but productive screen size. With a 13.3" screen, and weighing only 4.2 pounds, the EX300 does not compete with ultra portable options, but it remains fairly mobile and much more powerful.

Product Shot 2 Containing the latest Intel Core 2 Duos, the best in connectivity options and an ATI Radeon HD3450 with 256MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, the EX300 is not without its pitfalls: only using 512MB or 1GB of older and slower DDR2 ram, compared to the faster, more expensive DDR3 that the centrino 2 platform allows for. Available in blue and red.
