Lenovo IdeaPad U300s
$1,200.00
Released November, 2011
The Pros:Unique, elegant, minimalist design. Very thin (0.6" = 15.2mm). Boots very fast (10 seconds!).
The Cons:All-metal body will hamper wireless performance (WiFi/Bluetooth). No optical drive.
The Lenovo U300s is one of the first Ultrabooks, slated to launch in Q4 2011. Ultrabooks, developed and promoted by Intel, are a complete overhaul of the PC laptop's engineering design (extremely thin and light ultra-portables).
The U300s is an all-metal body, 0.6" (15.24mm) thin, minimalist-design laptop with an outstanding, unique look. It boots Windows in 10 seconds, comes with a standard 256GB SSD, and its battery lasts ~8h (charging battery is fast too: 50% charge in 30 min).
