Lenovo 3000 N200
$1,200.00
Released August, 2007
The Pros:High quality components for price. Beautiful high resolution screen. Sensitive touch pad.
The Cons:Touch pad buttons are squishy. Too much bundled software.
The Lenovo 3000 N200 is targeted at the business executive on a budget. The N200 is the N100's big brother with more powerful specifications, and a higher resolution screen. ThinkPad laptops are legendary among business users for their ruggedness and reliability, however these features come at a price.

The N200 sits in the middle of Lenovo's lineup offering a compromise of features and price. Hardware features are comparable to other laptops in this range, though Intel's full Santa Rosa platform is not included. Instead only the power saving CPU is found, with the Turbo Memory, draft-N wireless, and Gigabit Ethernet lacking.
The two main features targeted towards business are the fingerprint security scanner, and the ThinkVantage suite of software. Using a fingerprint scanner forgoes the need for entering a password which is convenient if your company's policy is to change your password often. The ThinkVantage software contains programs that perform diagnostics, backups and restores. The programs can be launched from within Windows directly, or on boot-up by the press of a special button on the keyboard. This allows for access to the administrative utilities without loading Windows, which is useful if your Windows installation becomes corrupt.

#lenovo_3000_n200 As I own this model, I got a bug somehow and now I can only log in with my fingerprint. My password is incompatible, I attempted everything in the bios settings to no avail. I do not know what to do with this. They hacked my master password.
