The Pavilion dv9700t is a series of 17" notebook computers from Hewlett Packard.  Processors available are Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core chips with speeds ranging from 2 to 2.6 GHz.  The standard display is 17" widescreen LCD with a resolution of 1440x900 dpi.

  An upgrade to 1680x1050 dpi is available as well.  The standard graphics adapter is an NVIDIA GeForce 8400M with 256MB of dedicated memory, with an available upgrade to an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M with 512MB of dedicated memory.  Other display options are a webcam and a fingerprint reader.  Wi-Fi networking is included, using the Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN system, and Bluetooth support is an option.  The optical drive is a Lightscribe 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support, with a Blu-Ray ROM option available as well.  The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium (32 or 64-bit) and upgrades to Vista Business and Vista Ultimate are available.  The standard battery is an 8-cell LiOn, and an high-capacity option is available.  The weight on the average configuration of the dv7z series is 7.7 lbs.
