HP G60-508US
$300.00
Released November, 2009
The Pros:Runs fairly quickly when running web browsers and office applications. Good value for the price, affordable for anyone.
The Cons:Fan inside makes a loud noise. Heats up fairly quickly, can be uncomfortably hot on your lap. Limited number of USB inputs, can't use too many external devices with it.
The HP G60-508US is a general purpose notebook featuring an Intel Celeron 900 processor with 3GB of RAM and a 250GB hard-disc drive. Included also is wireless networking, an optical drive for burning CDs and DVDs, and a 15.6” EXGA screen.

The notebook can be used for online video-conferencing with its included webcam/mic combo. It’s also able to handle low-resolution games with its GMA 4500M accelerator, but a separately purchased third party graphics card would be required for accessing modern games. Signature to the G60-508US is its HDMI port, which allows for transmitting video content directly to a compatible HDTV device. The number 1 drawback to the unit, however, is its extremely short 4 hour battery life.
