Product Shot 1 The Pros:Excellent performance, launches and runs applications very quickly. Battery lasts well over 6 hours on average. Quick launch bar above the keyboard is easy to work with and customize.

The Cons:Design is a bit boxy and boring looking.

The HP EliteBook 2530p is an extra-tough notebook designed to meet the military standards for high/low temperatures and dust — meaning it can withstand years of wears, tears, and falls. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 12.1” (1280x800) display, up to 4GB of RAM, and either a SATA-II or solid-state disk drive.

The 2530p in fact includes over 10 different configurations, starting at $1349.00 and going all the way up to $2599.00. And the models with a conventional HDD also utilize HP’s 3D DriveGuard, which protects the drive in the event the laptop accidentally gets dropped. The largest noticeable difference between the configurations is their operating system. The more expensive units sport Genuine Windows Vista with a Windows 7 upgrade option, whereas the low-end desktops start out with Windows XP Professional. Common traits shared by all systems include a DVD SuperMulti drive, a 2MP webcam, and 802.11a/b/g/draft n wireless connectivity.
