HP Compaq 610
$459.00
Released June, 2009
The Pros:Handles office applications very well, doesn't lag with multiple windows. Display is very clear and bright, works outdoors. Very light, easy to carry around with you.
The Cons:Not enough video processing power for even casual gaming. Just one small speaker, sounds tinny, can't listen to music through it without headphones. No many ports, limited expandability with external components.
The HP Compaq 610 is a 2009 laptop with a 15.6 inch diagonal LED-backlit HD widescreen display with a 16:9 ration. The laptop takes into account daily bumps and shocks that it might have to deal with by using a secure hard drive mounting method called DriveGuard.

The HP Compaq 610 has more features than its predecessor, the HP Compaq 515, including an optional integrated 2MP webcam with an integrated microphone which are useful for video conferencing and creating multi-media content. The HP Compaq 610 comes with Windows XP Professional, though it is only available through downgrade rights from Genuine Windows 7 Professional. Though the consumer might want to just stick with the Windows 7, the manufacturer has a warning that the hardware might need to be upgraded to run Windows 7, or just simply that Windows 7 will have to be installed by the consumer.
