The Cons:Based on the old Centrino platform. Very poor onboard graphics (no high definition output or gaming). Limited number of expansion ports.

The HP 550 Notebook PC is a line of 15.4" budget-minded notebook computers from Hewlett Packard focused on the business market.  The processors available are skewed towards lower-end Celeron chips, and lower powerd Intel Core 2 Duos.

  The standard display is 15.4" with a resolution of 1280x800 dpi with anti-glare technology. The standard graphics adapter is a Mobile Intel GMA X3100.  Wi-Fi networking is included, using the 802.11b/g standard; A and N compatibility are available, using the Intel PRO/Wireless Link 4965AGN, and Bluetooth support is optional as well.  The optical drive is a DVD-ROM, with a DVD/CD-RW combo available as well.  The operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic and upgrades to Vista Business and Vista Home Premium are available. The option to downgrade from Vista to Windows XP is also available.  The standard battery is a 6-cell LiOn.  The weight on the average configuration of the 550 series is 5.5 lbs.
