HP 425
$549.00
Released June, 2010
The Pros:Affordable price point. HDMI output. Powerful enough for the majority of consumers.
The Cons:Bulky and unattractive aesthetic. Poor battery life and average weight of 5 pounds make it sub-par for mobile use.
The 425 is one of HP's low-cost notebook laptop offerings. HP is promoting the 425 and its cousin the 625 as ideal for small business users looking for a versatile notebook at a good value. Like its cousin, the 425 comes equipped with AMD's VISION Pro Technology, a visual platform which is optimized for Windows 7 Professional.

VISION Pro Technology offers advanced visual performance geared toward business use, support for enhanced virus protection and energy efficiency in notebooks. HP has also made much of the AMD processors in their notebooks. The 425 has three AMD processor options: the 2.3GHz Turion II dual core, the 2.1 GHz Athlon II dual core and the 2.2GHz V series. For business interactions from afar that still require a face-to-face, the 425 has an integrated microphone and the option of a 2 megapixel webcam.
