Gateway ID49C08u

The ID49C08u is the top-end 14" notebook computer in Gateway's ID Series, which targets students and other mobile consumers by offering mainstream performance in ultra-thin form factors. It is highly portable at under an inch thick, just over 5 lbs, and featuring a battery life of up to 6 hours.

The ID49C08u is equipped with an Intel Core i5-450M processor, which runs at 2.4GHz but can be overclocked to 2.66GHz, as well as 4GB of RAM, and, unlike the other 14" options, discrete graphics via NVIDIA's GeForce GT 330M. HD video stored on the laptop's 500GB hard drive can be output to a larger screen via HDMI. Other notable features include a dedicated numeric keypad (uncommon in this size range) and a "social networks button", which simplifies access to Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube.
