Gateway EC1456u

The Gateway EC1456u, the top-end model in the entry-level EC14 series, is a standard 11.6" ultra-portable notebook. Like the EC1430u, it is a step up from the EC1454u, utilizing a dual-core Intel Pentium rather than Celeron processor.

It improves on the EC1430u's specs as well, boosting RAM to 4 GB and storage capacity to 500 GB. The notebook will perform adequately in most day-to-day computing tasks and some multitasking. It lacks Bluetooth, but features Wi-Fi and gigabit ethernet connectivity. An HDMI port is a key feature, allowing HD content to be displayed on larger screens. A 5-in-1 card reader and built-in webcam are also standard. Battery life is rated at 7 hours, and Windows 7 comes pre-installed.
