The graphics card, Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress HyperMemory, is by no means of the gaming standard, however paired with a 15.4” Widescreen WXGA display, it serves its purpose as a basic office tool. The optical drive is a DVD/CD-RW Combo, allowing for playback of consumer write CD formats. The strength of the Vostro 1000 is in its wireless profile, with options such as the Next-Generation Wireless-N Wi-Fi, maximizing signal efficiency to wireless networks. Dell manufactures the Vostro to be durable and reliable, with 13,000 hours of system-reliability testing and a Mylar Keyboard which is sealed from spills and dust. Lastly, input/output supplied on the Vostro 1000 is limited, however the essentials, such as 4 USB ports, 3-in-1 Media Memory Card Reader, and a VGA video connector are installed.
