The Compaq Presario CQ61 is an affordable 15.6” widescreen LCD notebook released alongside Windows 7. It was built as an even more affordable option from the CQ60 for budget-conscious shoppers. It utilizes an AMD Sempron M100 processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 160GB SATA hard-disc drive.

Despite being low-priced, the CQ61 boasts a bevy of advanced features, including built-in Altec Lansing speakers and even an optional ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card. Most promising about the Presario CQ61 is that it runs Windows 7, a benefit not included with the CQ60. Additional features include a 5-I-1 media card reader, a long-lasting 6-cell Lithium-ion battery (3 hours), a DVD burner, and 802.11b/g WLAN connectivity.

Hp denies the existence of GNU/Linux therefore, no tech support

Drops my WIFI all the time. I cnaa be in the same room as my wife and hers will still work and mine will drop. :(
