Product Shot 1The Averatec N3400 Series is a late 2009 release of Averatec's line of midsized notebooks. The N3400 is designed to be smaller than a normal 15-inch notebook but more powerful than the standard netbook out on the market.

This ultraportable has a 13.3 inch screen, larger than Averatec's previous notebooks, and weighs a minimal 3.8 pounds. It comes with 3GB of DDR2 which is expandable to an excellent 8GB. The Averatec N3400 has some additional nice features, such as coming bundled with a minimal amount of junk software and three USB ports. One feature that isn't so nice is the battery.  Lasting only about 3 hours on an idle 50% monitor brightness, the Averatec N3400 Series battery is internal and can't be swapped out for another one. This makes the notebook extremely impractical for travel, despite its other nice features.
