Asus F8Va
$1,400.00
Released August, 2007
The Pros:HDMI connection and easy HD video playback. Travel partner.
The Cons:Fan is after 2 months a bit noisy.
The F8Va is a general purpose notebook from Asus. Built on the now outdated Centrino platform the F8Va features a hybrid TV tuner with remote, the latest in network connectivity (802.11 N and Bluetooth) and a Direct X 10 compatible video card from ATI for media and gaming.

Unlike the rest of the F8 series, however, the F8Va is the only version to include HDMI out and an ESATA port. The laptops video card, while not as powerful as the 9500M GT in the F8Sn comes with double the memory. With a regular 6 cell battery, the device lasts 2 and a half hours on power saving mode. While it does not provide exceptional performance in any definition of the word, the F8P does present a luxury alternative to the many bland looking entry level laptops - without a luxurious price tag.
