Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch
$2,500.00
Released February, 2011
The 17-inch MacBook Pro is Apple's top-of-the-line notebook computer. The newest version, released in February 2011, offers several significant upgrades over the 2010 model. Available in only one standard configuration but somewhat customizable, the update offers a boost in processing power with a 2.2GHz quad-core i7 CPU, as well as in graphics, switching from Nvidia to AMD, in the form of the Radeon HD 6750M.

A 750GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM are standard. Two other key additions for 2011 are the notebook's FaceTime HD webcam, which multiplies video resolution by a factor of three, and a Thunderbolt port, which promises ultra-fast transfer speeds easily rivaling those of USB 3.0. The MacBook Pro remains relatively portable for a high-performance, 17" notebook, at under an inch thick and under 7 lbs.
