The Acer TravelMate Timeline TM8371-6457 is a thousand dollar member of Acer's line of small professional laptops. Like the others it comes with Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) but has downgrade rights to Windows XP Professional for consumers who want the security of using a well known operating system.

It offers 4GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. The screen is a tiny 13.3" across and as a result the ultra-portable notebook weighs only 3.58 pounds. The battery claims to last up to 8 hours, a great length for a portable notebook with a small battery. The Acer TravelMate Timeline TM8371-6457 has a decent processor that runs at a minimal 1.4GHz. Unlike some of the others in its line, the TM8371-6457 comes with a fingerprint reader that enhances the security of the portable notebook.
