The Pros:Screen is larger than on most laptops. Display is clearly visible, handles glare well. Handles multiple applications quickly, can multitask without slowing down.
The Cons:Battery doesn't go very long between charges. Speakers are tinny and don't get very loud. Comes with a large collection of software nobody will use.
The Acer Aspire AS5517-1208 is an all-purpose notebook featuring an AMD Athlon dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card with 256MB of vRAM. Included is standard Ethernet and 802.11b/g WiFi for cable-free networking; an 8X DVD drive for burning CDs and DVDs; a memory card reader for quick photo transfers; and a microphone/webcam combo set for keeping in touch with others via video messaging.

With the graphics card, users can also employ the AS5517-1208 to play high-definition video games with Shader Model 4.0 — the highest shader model in operation at the time of its release (2009).
