The Pros:Powerful components - i7 processor, DDR3, Nvidia graphics. HDMI output. Full high definition 1080p display.
The Cons:Very heavy and large (10 pounds) - poor for lugging around. Boring uninspired design. Poor tech support.
The Acer Aspire 8940 is a multimedia notebook released in November 2009 as a successor to the 8935. The defining difference is the addition of a more powerful Intel Core i7 1.6GHz processor and a newer GeForce GTS 250M graphics card. Included also is 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB SATA hard-disc drive, and either a BD or DVD player. Note also the HDMI output for transmitting content to a compatible HDTV, as well as the eSATA port for hooking up an external drive. Overall, the Aspire 8940 takes a slight step up from previous models in the Aspire series; it buffs up on specifications, while holding onto key 'peripherals'.
