The Acer Aspire 5516 is an entry-level notebook computer, affordable but lacking advanced performance. Powered by a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon single-core processor, it features 2 GB of RAM and a 160 or 250 GB hard drive.

To the 5515, the 5516 adds the 250GB storage option and features a larger, brighter, 15.6-inch 16:9 display. With a weight of 6.0 lbs and integrated Wi-Fi, the 5516 is fairly portable, although it lacks Bluetooth connectivity. With integrated ATI graphics, the Aspire 5516 is not designed for gaming. Other features include a DVD writer, 5-in-1 card reader, two USB ports, microphone, and optional built-in webcam. Windows Vista Home Basic arrives preloaded.

#acer_aspire_5516 I got this notebook as a hand me down. Was very underwhelming but it was free. I am in the computer industry so know a few things. I did some home work and upgraded the memory to 4gb, found you could extend the processor so I added a 2ghz dual core and found an apple wireless n card. Right now looking for an easy way to add Bluetooth with out taking up a USB. All in not a bad notebook. LCD screen do go bad don't knock a notebook because of defective hardware on one, that is why you pay for a warranty if it runs out that is just crappy timing.

#acer_aspire_5516 Dont buy you will be dissapointed. i had it 6 months and the screen messed up i called the repair shop between 175 and 250 to fix. i only paid 198 for it
